President Macky Sall and his coalition, as at yesterday night, did not announce the name of their champion for the upcoming Presidential. But the blows have already begun to rain. Prime Minister Amadou Ba, presented by some as one of the favorites for the investiture, seems so well placed to win unanimity around him that he worries some. When questioned, allies of the person concerned claim that Amadou Ba himself was flabbergasted when he discovered the site. Hosted in the United States, it seems to have been created with the intention of presenting him as a man in too much of a hurry, who would like to force the hand of the President. The purpose of the manoeuvre, everyone agrees, would be to discredit this “candidate for candidacy” with the “Grand Elector” Macky Sall. It remains to be seen whether such combination will have the chance to prosper.

Once past the surprise phase, Amadou Ba wanted to be serene. As usual, the man only wants to devote himself to the tasks entrusted to him, those of coordinating government action. And this, until the end of the mandate of his mentor.
