« The parliamentary diplomacy mission makes an urgent appeal for calm and restraint, and invites all political players to refrain from any form of expression that incites violence and fuels a climate of tension in the country. It invites all stakeholders to give priority to the fundamental interests of the Senegalese nation, which are peace and stability, as well as respect for the Constitution, the promotion of democracy, the rule of law and social cohesion », stated the press release.

« We urge all socio-political actors to urgently initiate an inclusive and fraternal national political dialogue involving all relevant and interested political and social actors in order to reach consensual solutions and create favourable conditions for the holding of an open, credible, inclusive and transparent presidential election », the document states.
The parliamentarians also called on the Ecowas Commission to send a joint mission of the Commission and the Parliament of Ecowas within the next week to facilitate, as soon as possible, the holding of the national political dialogue to which President Macky Sall has invited.
