The announced Supreme Court appeals to overturn the presidential decree repealing the one convening the electoral body were filed yesterday Monday by candidates. Among them, Malick Gakou, of the Gakou 2024 Coalition. Mr. Gakou was the first to file an appeal with the Constitutional Council.

Candidates like Mame Boye Diao, Cheikh Tidiane Dièye and Habib Sy were fired upon with tear gas as they left the Constitutional Council, after filing an appeal against the postponement of the Presidential election.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye, through his representative, Amadou Ba, also filed an appeal against Macky Sall’s decree at the Constitutional Council.
