The founder of Afrikajom Center has been subjected to attacks and moral harassment since his appearance on RFMs « Grand Jury » show. Raddho denounced these acts perpetrated by the detractors of freedom of expression, and called on the authorities to effectively protect Alioune Tine’s rights and that the acts are punished in accordance with the laws of the country.

The African Platform for the Defense of Human Rights (Raddho) denounces the moral harassment and perfidious attacks suffered by Alioune Tine, honorary president of the organization. In a press release, Raddho reports that Mr. Tine has been the subject of attacks since his appearance on Sunday, August 25, on the Grand Jury show on Rfm. And the organization led by Sadikh Niass returns to the facts: “Guest on the Grand Jury show on the private radio Rfm, on Sunday, August 25, 2024, Mr. Alioune Tine, president of the Africajom Center, honorary president of Raddho and recognised human rights activist in  Africa and the world, had, in the style in which he is known, deplore the “inaccessibility of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, mocking his confinement in the Palace of the Republic, thus allowing his Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko the exercise of real power.”

Furthermore, this human rights organization reminds « human rights detractors that freedom of opinion and expression are among the fundamental human rights that the Constitution guarantees to all. » In the same vein, the document asks: « Do they also know that in terms of freedom of opinion and expression, public figures, including those who exercise functions at the highest level of political power, such as heads of state or government, are legitimately exposed to criticism and political opposition? Are they aware that their behaviour constitutes forms of aggression against a person because of the exercise of their freedom of opinion or expression and that they should be promptly investigated diligently by the public prosecutor? »
