The Head of State decided on Monday to write off the tax debt of Senegal’s press companies, estimated at more than 40 billion CFA francs, Aps learnt on Monday from the Senegalese Council of Press Distributors and Publishers (Cdeps). 

Macky Sall made the announcement during talks with Cdeps members. « During the audience, President Macky Sall announced his decision to write off the tax debts of Senegal’s press companies », according to an official of the employers’ organisation who took part in the meeting.  This envelope is estimated at more than 40 billion CFA francs. Television and radio stations will now pay a monthly licence fee of 500,000 francs to Broadcasting Company of Senegal (Tds), instead of the previous one million CFA francs.
