Aliou Sall admits that currently he is observing the situation and looks ahead to his political future through discussions with various political players, including the Socialist Party and former Prime Minister Amadou Ba. « I have had in-depth discussions with the Socialist Party, as I did with our former presidential candidate, Amadou Ba. But to date, my option is still to continue to observe, because given what we have been through in 2021, in 2023, it is necessary to take a break, especially to reflect on how to do politics », says Aliou Sall.

He urges the new regime to work in serenity

Now a director of the African University of Science and Technology, Aliou Sall has shown a spirit of fair play, like a defeated sportsman he accepts defeat and wishes the new authorities success. Stressing the enormous hopes placed in them by the Senegalese people since they came to power, he warned the new holders of power against « unnecessary haste ». Aliou Sall used this as a shorthand to address the controversy surrounding the National Assembly, stating that there was no need for it. Encouraging the government to engage in dialogue and discussion with all the country’s driving forces, he advised the new authorities to take the time needed to carry out their projects in a well reflected manner during their five-year term of office, and to avoid « unnecessary tensions ».
