Macky Sall indictment: Takku-Wallu stands against Pastef’s project

The Takku Wallu Senegaal parliamentary group, chaired by Aïssata Tall Sall, disapproves of the action taken by MP Pastef Guy Marius Sagna to obtain an impeachment from the National Assembly against former President Macky Sall. Determined to oppose this « forfeiture, » Takku Wallu calls on the Senegalese to mobilize against the « victor’s justice » that Pastef is currently establishing.
The proposed impeachment of President Macky Sall before the High Court of Justice, filed by MP Guy Marius Sagna, has prompted a reaction from the Takku Wallu parliamentary group. In a statement, members of this opposition group denounced « unfounded assertions made by a majority MP. »
Questions to the government at the Parlaiament: Sonko’s Show – «Our penal policy will be zero tolerance»
In its document, the parliamentary group led by Lawyer Aïssata Tall Sall draws « the attention of national and international public opinion to this serious forfeiture which debases and demeans Senegalese democracy. »
Protesting against this approach, Lawyer Tall and her colleagues point out that « this is the first time in the political history of our country, marked by peaceful alternations, that a new power seeks, through unprecedented violence and above all through the manipulation of minds and consciences, to target a former head of state who everyone knows can only be prosecuted for high treason, and never for management actions for which he is in no way responsible. » And warned: « This low manoeuvre, intended to tarnish the image and international reputation of a great African whose leadership is praised throughout the world, will certainly be doomed to failure. »
The Takku Wallu Parliamentary Group announced that it « will use all necessary means to thwart this destructive attempt against our democratic model. » In the same vein, it called on « all peace-loving citizens to stand up against this victor’s justice, which is seriously undermining our national cohesion. »
Management of Force Covid funds : More than 10 persons detained
Relying on Article 101 of the Constitution and the Organic Law on the High Court of Justice, Guy Marius Sagna accuses the former head of state of having incurred a debt of several billion CFA francs outside of any legal framework, without parliamentary authorization or inclusion in the finance laws. The MP also speaks of concealing the real deficit and the public debt, estimated at nearly 100% of GDP. For Guy Marius Sagna, « these acts are part of a policy of dissembling governance, contrary to the principles of transparency and good governance. »
