Untraceable for Several Hours: Adji Sarr Runs Away

Yesterday, Adji Sarr ran away to try to find a less anxiety -provoking life. A recluse in an apartment and under close surveillance, she wanted to regain her « confiscated » freedom because of a strict control of her close guard which was changed recently and who deprives her of visits. After several hours in the nature, the ex-masseuse whose disappearance had worried at the highest level of the Republic, returned home in the evening.
Where did Adji Sarr go? Until late yesterday evening, state authorities were wondering. Because the ex-masseuse had fled from her apartment, appalled by the treatment that her new bodyguard, very strict on her mission, would inflict on her. When she arrived, she changed the security protocol by imposing an iron discipline. The agents had control over her visitors, her visits… Even her friends, her family no longer had access to her, causing this outburst of anger. In short, with his bodyguards, relations were no longer in good shape.
This disappearance of several hours shook the Republic, which has watched over her for more than two years. In this very volatile security context, all scenarios were considered, especially since she was the victim of several threats because of her accusations of rape on Ousmane Sonko, also arrested 10 days ago for calling for insurrection, conspiracy against State authority, undermining state security, among others.
At the time of this « coup de sang », she probably did not think of the consequences that this act could have had. The risk would have been that she would meet an activist or sympathizer of the former Pastef party, who considers her to be at the origin of Sonko’s current setbacks. The authorities had to mobilize several agents to try to catch her in time. More fear than harm… And stroke of luck: Adji Sarr was recognized in the street by a lady, who took her home. Later last night, she returned home. At the highest peak in the state, the sigh of relief was enormous.
Today, Adji Sarr, « cut off from the world », wanted to find a « little air », regretting this « excess of zeal ». She found it hard to bear the restrictions on her freedom as if she were in prison. Even detainees, she tells sources, have visitation rights that she is being denied while she is free. In his book Ousmane Sonko-Adji, the untold story, the news item that burns Senegal, Madiambal Diagne recounts that Adji Sarr made three suicide attempts. This story shows the fragility of this girl whose life has been scrutinized for the past two years.
She returned around 10:30 p.m.
It should be recalled that on June 1, the Criminal Chamber sentenced Ousmane Sonko to 2 years in prison for youth corruption, a payment of 20 million CFA francs in damages to the civil party, as well as a fine of 600 thousand CFA francs. While Adji Sarr claimed 1.5 billion CFA francs in damages.
The leader of the former Pastef party was tried in absentia for rape and death threats. The public prosecutor had requested, during the trial, 10 years of criminal imprisonment against him for the offense of rape and a sentence of 5 years for corruption of youth. After the verdict, Adji Sarr had appealed as well as Ndèye Khady Ndiaye, owner of the Sweet Beauty salon, who was found guilty of incitement to debauchery. She was sentenced to 2 years in prison.
