After Touba et Tivaouane, Bassirou Diomaye Faye pursues his pilgrimage to the religious families.  The head of state prayed on Friday the Omarian mosque, situated on the Corniche of Dakar.  At the end of the prayer session, led by imam Thierno Seydou Mountaga Tall, President Faye reaffirmed his commitment to pursue the works of the Grand Mosque. For him, the importance of religious leaders in Senegalese society is crucial, especially given that, he added, they are the foundation of «constant dialogue with the different religious communities, in the superior interest of the Nation».

According to BDF, the «dialogue between the State and the religious leaders to guarantee peace and the stability of the country» is essential. He is committed to «supporting the religious initiatives and to promote the education of the population along the religious route».

In response, Thierno Madani Tall, recalled the rich and porfound history of the Omarian Mosque and highlighted the «permanent engagement of the State and their followers in the preservation and restoration of the historic religious site ».

Having prayed for the success of the “President and his government so that their actions could be fully beneficial to the entire population, in favor of peace and stability of the country.” The religious guide of the Corniche offered to President Diomaye two «works of major significance: a book on Cheikh Oumar Foutiyou Tall and another which retraces the history of Thierno Seydou Nourou».
