Ousmane Sonko returns to Dakar. He announced yesterday during a declaration in Ziguinchor. The chief ‘Patriot’ wants a pure and simple stop off the judicial machine or it will be “confrontation” with the powers.

Ousmane Sonko is not awaiting the verdict of judge Issa Ndiaye scheduled for June 1. The « Patriot » in chief gave the signal for « the final fight » in Dakar. In a double statement in Wolof and French in front of his home in Ziguinchor and streamed on Facebook yesterday, he announced his return to the capital across the road. “I will go back to Dakar, because every strategy has a deadline. The rest of the fight must be done in Dakar. You must be ready to accompany me there” he told his militants gathered in front of his residence. “We have a project for Senegal. The final fight will be in Dakar,” he added.

He explains that his retreat to the South was strategic. “Our retreat to Ziguinchor allowed us to thwart Macky’s plan, gain time and remobilize the troops. Now, we will go to Dakar to confront Macky Sall, because he only knows this language. I make an appointment with all the young people who believe in the project to join me in Dakar. Either Macky backs down in his business, or we’re going to confront each other. His prosecutor spoke of zero tolerance for me. Now it will be zero tolerance for Macky,” he said. The mayor of Ziguinchor has also warned that nothing can prevent him from going through with his project. “If I have to give my life to change Senegal, I will not hesitate to do so. Let Macky know that I’m not afraid of him. Whatever his means, I will face him. Macky Sall received all kinds of overtures. But every time we take a step back, Macky equates it with fear. He only knows confrontation. Now, we have to finish beautifully,” he explained.

By informing his activists of his decision to return to Dakar, Ousmane Sonko largely returned to the reasons for his presence in Ziguinchor. According to the « Patriot » in chief, he was in Ziguinchor to avoid reliving the summonses in the defamation trial. It was to avoid arrest that he took refuge in Ziguinchor.
